AI Readiness Assessment

The starting point. Always.

Before you can make smart decisions about AI, you need an honest picture of where your business actually stands. Not a generic checklist. Not a vendor assessment designed to sell you software. A proper, structured diagnostic built specifically for hospitality operations.

That is what the AI Readiness Assessment is.

What this actually is

Most consultants look at one part of your business in isolation. A new PMS. A marketing strategy. A training programme. Each one solving the problem directly in front of them, without asking why that problem exists in the first place.

Revenue leaks rarely respect departmental boundaries. A guest's experience and their spending runs across accommodation, food and beverage, spa, leisure, and everything in between. If there is friction anywhere in that journey, you lose money. Usually without knowing it, and often without it ever showing up in your reports.

The AI Readiness Assessment looks at the whole picture across every department. It tells you where you are, where the gaps are, and what a realistic path forward looks like.

How it works

The assessment is structured around 75 questions across 15 hospitality-specific themes, covering everything from guest communications and booking systems to revenue management, marketing, finance, HR, data infrastructure, and operational delivery.

It is conducted through structured interviews with key stakeholders across your business, not a form you fill in yourself. That distinction matters. What people say in conversation, and what the systems actually show, are often quite different things. The interviews surface both.

Every assessment is led by Francesca directly. You will not be handed to a junior analyst or given a generic framework. The findings reflect your business, not a template.

What you receive

The AI Readiness Report is the output of the assessment. It is a full, branded report covering:

A benchmarked maturity profile across all 15 operational themes, showing exactly where your business sits against current sector standards. A SWOT analysis grounded in your specific operational context. An impact projection modelling the time savings, response time improvements, and revenue potential available to your business. A phased 12-month strategic roadmap with clear sequencing, from quick wins in the first 90 days through to advanced capability in year one. A risk register covering the most likely points of failure and how to avoid them. Concrete next steps with tool recommendations you can act on immediately.

This is a client-ready document. It is designed to be shared with your board, your leadership team, or whoever else needs to understand the case for change.

What happens after the assessment

You take the report and do what you choose with it. There is no obligation to continue working with FAI Consultancy beyond Stage 1. Many clients use the report to build internal consensus, secure budget, or brief an implementation partner of their own choosing.

If you want help turning the findings into a detailed plan and then into working systems, that is what Stages 2 and 3 are for.

Stage 2: The AI Blueprint combines Value Mapping and Workflow Analysis into a single engagement. We interview your team, map the workflows that matter most, and produce the detailed implementation plan your business needs to act on the assessment findings. Priced on scope, agreed before work begins.

Stage 3: Implementation is where the systems get built. Also priced on scope, based on what the Blueprint identifies.

You can read more about both on the Work with Me page.

Who this is for

The assessment works best for hospitality businesses that are genuinely good at what they do but have outgrown the systems supporting them. Typically turning over £1M or more. Often running across multiple departments or revenue streams. Almost always relying on a small number of people to hold more together than they should have to.

If you recognise that picture, this is the right starting point.

Led by someone who's run hospitality businesses. Not just consulted for them.

Francesca Fay founded FAI Consultancy to bridge the gap between AI and the reality of running a busy hospitality operation. With a background in luxury hospitality and commercial management, she understands what it actually takes to change how a team works and what gets in the way.
